While in graduate school school pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work, I decided to search for a hobby that provided me with an opportunity to express my artistic creativity. I signed up for a stained glass class and instantaneously enjoyed the challenge. Overtime, I became more proficient with the process and a good friend and jewelry artist encouraged me to apply for juried art shows. Shortly thereafter I successfully began participating in the shows and selling my art pieces.
Today I am a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I continue to be a stained glass artist. I am honored the people throughout the USA, England, and even Australia are owners of my work.
A significant amount of time and effort goes into each stained glass creation. The process begins with a pattern that is cut, traced onto glass, and then cut into pieces. Next I meticulously grind each piece of glass to remove the sharp edges. Copper foil is then placed around each individual piece, which allows the glass to be soldered together. Finally, I polish the project, sign each creation and it is ready to be shipped and enjoyed by all.
